This service is for confidential advice and for the provision of Emergency Hormonal Contraception. The product you receive will be agreed with you following a consultation with the pharmacist. This is a free of charge service covered by the NHS. The morning after pill can also be bought privately if you are not covered by the NHS.
Our pharmacists can provide free emergency contraception covered by the NHS, we also provide emergency contraception privately. Anybody seeking emergency contraception will be invited for a confidential consultation to provide the best medication for each individual.
Emergency hormonal contraception, often called the morning after pill, can be taken up to 5 days after unprotected sex, depending on which type of pill you take. The sooner you take the morning after pill, the greater the chances of avoiding pregnancy. The morning after pill is intended for emergency use and shouldn't be used on a regular basis.
It’s important to note that the emergency contraceptive pill does not protect you against sexually transmitted infections (STIs), so you should take separate measures to look after your sexual health. These can include going for regular sexual health check-ups and using barrier forms of contraception, such as condoms.
